Namaste

There are four noble truths in Buddhism... First, life is suffering... Second, suffering is the result of attachment... One who desires only sees manifestations; one who is desireless can see the infinite. All my life I have been in search of Schrodinger’s cat, however, now I find myself in search of Schrodinger’s cat soul. I’m not religious and see most mainstream religions as a tool for control instead of a source for knowledge. However, I am spiritual, and find a lot of truth and knowledge in Taoism and Buddhism. As I continue along “the way” it only makes sense that my next destination was, is, and will be Bhutan and Burma (Burma, referred to as the Union of Myanmar today). Both completely closed off to the rest of the world in the past and only recently opening up to a limited number of tourists each year. Untouched and deep in Buddhist traditions, Bhutan in the Mahayana tradition and Burma in the Theravada tradition, they offer an insight to a way of life and state of mind that has remained unchanged over the ages, and that only a few years ago I would not have been ready to comprehend and appreciate. Now, a few lessons later, I have very specific reasons for this journey, and while I’ll greatly miss my travel companions of past journeys, this time I need to wander alone, catch you on the next cycle...
